What is Ayurveda?

A natural system of medicine originating in India more than 5,000 years ago. The focus is on the five elements of life: ether/space, air/wind, fire, water, and earth being components relating to our body’s physical and mental states. The concepts of “like increases like” and “opposites balance” guide us to live our lives with nature. Learn how to find balance in how we feel within our bodies as a part of nature’s seasonal shift. Nourishment in the form of food as medicine, meal timing, and awareness enhances your proper digestive processes within the body. Healthy absorption of essential nutrients, sensory perceptions and life experiences contribute to balanced well-being! Discover practical tools to help fatigue, stress, sleep issues, hormonal imbalances, and digestive concerns.

What is Pitta Season and Pitta Dosha?

In Ayurvedic tradition, the "Pitta Season" refers to late spring through early fall, a period characterized by the qualities of hot, sharp, oily, light, and penetrating intense heat. During this time, the natural environment mirrors Pitta's attributes, leading to the hottest and longest days of the year, which can aggravate Pitta dosha in the body and mind, potentially causing issues like irritability/anger as well as inflammation (skin issues, digestive irregularities). Learning how to find relief from these symptoms of imbalance can lead to enjoyment in this transitional season! Cost: $45/class OR $120/3-class series
